Jacquelyn (Jacky) Miller - Director, Early Childhood Educator
 
Jacky is a graduate of the Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education. She has been operating The Tottle Inn Children’s Centres since 1996. Jacky was born and raised in Falmouth and has very strong ties within the community. Along with her husband Dwayne, she has a daughter and son, both attending university and a beautiful Granddaughter.  She is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts Program at Mount Saint Vincent University, completing her degree in Child and Youth Study. Jacky has also completed the MDW program at MSVU as well as numerous other courses through MSVU, University of North Carolina and the Nova Scotia Community College. She has obtained training in the Environment Rating Scales at the University of North Carolina, which few, if any other Early Childhood Educators in Nova Scotia have completed. Jacky attends seminars and conferences on various topics related to Early Childhood Development on a regular basis throughout the Maritimes and the United States. She was selected to be a member of the Working Group for the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services Early Learning and Child Care Plan. Through her work on the ELCC, she was nominated for the 2010 Caring at Work Award through Child Care Connections of Nova Scotia. Jacky also serves as an executive member of the Private Licensed Administrator’s Association of Nova Scotia Child Care Centres (PLAA). She was also selected by the Early Childhood Education Human Resource Sector Council, to help develop the Occupational Standards for Early Childhood Educators in Canada. Through her work with PLAA and other organizations, Jacky continues to advocate for accessible, affordable high quality child care for all of Nova Scotia’s families. Although Jacky’s responsibilities often take her away from the classroom, her passion remains working directly with the children.
 
 
Jorelle Miller – Program Coordinator
 
Jorelle has been working at The Tottle Inn Children’s Centre since she was a young teenager. She is currently our Program Coordinator providing administrative and creative assistance to our Director and ECEs. Jorelle is busy completing her degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Fashion Design. She lives in Falmouth with her fiancé and beautiful baby Harlo Bella. Jorelle has formed great friendships with the children and their families over the years and enjoys spending time at the centre.
 
 
Heather Harvey - Educational Assistant
 
Heather is a Falmouth native and has worked as an Educational Assistant for the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board since 1990. She has a son and a daughter. Heather joined our teaching team in 2001. She has competed hundreds courses and workshops on countless topics related to child development. Her creativity shines as she guides the children through various arts and crafts activities. You will often find the children painted as butterflies, aliens or wild animals when they ask for the face paint to come out! Her originality and experience working with school age children make her an asset to our team. Heather’s busy schedule includes her full time E.A. position at Hantsport School, part time position with our center, tutoring, craft classes and several volunteer positions where here talents are always an asset.


Kara Kelly-Wolfe - Early Childhood Educator
 
Kara is the newest member of our team.  She completed her Early Childhood Education training at the Nova Scotia Kingstec College and was highly recommended by her instructors. Kara was born in Halifax and has lived in the valley for 14 years. She has experience working in licensed centers. Kara also has several years experience working with children as a babysitter for two foster families in her community. Kara Joined the team in October 2010 and has already shown her natural ability to bond with the children.
